Friday nights opening of the Carbon & Chemicals show in Nottingham was fantastic, we had a great turn out and it all went off without a hitch (despite a flood during the set-up!)

We’d like to thank everyone who came to check out the show and everyone involved in the whole thing, as it wouldnt be possible without you!

Here’s a few select snaps of the night but you can see all the photo’s in our Flickr pool @ www.flickr.com/groups/xyncarbonchemicals/pool/, on SPT’s blog, on Boardroom Daves blog, my blog and a couple of videos on Pones Vimeo

The show is up until the end of this week so if you couldnt make it down on the night, be sure to check it out this week!

1 day to go!

Exhibitions, News 1 Comment

That’s right folks, just one day to go until the Nottingham show! Im currently sitting in my room in Bristol, surrounded by artwork and stuff to take back, as in an hours time I make the journey to Notts to meet up with Waste, Klingatron & Pone to start hanging the work!

I really hope you can make it down, we’re going to be working as hard as we can to put on a great show - so from the work on the walls to the live art, you can be sure we’re giving it our all!

The goodie bags are being prepped too, I’ve burnt off just 10 copies of the hand-made / super8 film by Robbie Keast & Danny Wainwright onto DVD and popped them in a random selection of goodie bags, and Ive also put an all-black one-of-two production sample of my vinyl toy ‘Droplet‘ in one random bag too!! (I only received 2 black samples, the first prototypes I ever got to see so it’s pretty special!)

If that isn’t enough to entice you, well then I guess I’d better mention the free drinks then hadn’t i… They’ll be beer & wine available at the show* and then if you’re carrying on to the Orange Tree with us for the after party, show off your xynthetic logo hand-stamp and you’ll get another free drink or two** plus happy-hour price cocktails!

It’s bank holiday Friday, what else are you going to do with your night?

Friday 21st March 6.00 - 10.00pm
The Art Organization,
21 Station Street, Nottingham (literally opposite the train station)

After party @ Orange Tree
38 Shakespeare Street, NG1 4FQ

Hope to see you there!

* Until it runs out
** Until the barman tells you you can’t have anymore freebies

Kitch-en Gallery’s Swan Song

Exhibitions No Comments

It’s with sadness that I tell y’all that our first Carbon & Chemicals exhibition @ Kitch-en Gallery in Middlesbrough on the 1st Feb is going to be Kitch-ens very last!

The Kitch-en fellas have decided to take the gallery & name online rather than be tied to physical premises, so that means we want them to go out with a bang - if you’re up north then please do try and make it down for the opening night next Friday 1st!

Fillin’ them goodie bags

Exhibitions No Comments

As you can see, we’ve been collecting together lots of sweet bits & bobs from the Xyn family to put inside the goodie bags for the Carbon & Chemicals shows

Remember, there’s just 30 goodie bags to give away at each show, on a first come-first served basis so don’t miss out!!

Progress…

Exhibitions, News No Comments

With just 2 weeks to go until our very first Carbon & Chemicals show, we’re all hard at work doing our thing, getting paintings painted, skateboards finished, edits edited and things sorted!

Word is spreading too, thanks to the kind folk who have been posting about it on various places: Lomography events website, Haxed forum, Modart Magazine, Kitch-en’s website and the Computer Arts magazine diary page…

(Come join us on Friday the 1st for the opening night though!)

So I’ll leave you with a few more sneak peak lomo’s from Laura, Waste & the gang…
